Introduction
A long time ago, when I was an eager young apprentice, just starting the journey in theater, the actor Richard Jordan told me that acting was simply telling a story. I heard his observation but I didn’t really understand it, not fully at least. As I developed as a performer, over the years, I found myself drawn, repeatedly, to that insight. Telling a story. I came to realize that storytelling was my profession. My attraction to theater and its mysterious landscapes was really an attraction to weaving a compelling yarn, a fable, a magical tale.
This website portfolio tracks my pursuit of this goal. It provides an overview of my more recent work, particularly of the past 8-9 years, where I have performed in a variety of plays while nurturing my emerging interest in playwriting and playmaking. My performance background feeds my sense of story and composition. I write as a performer, as someone who wants to take the audience on a fantastical ride, even a spiritual one, perhaps to places they’ve never visited.
